Today in the morning around 11:00 am I visited the 37th Annual Flower Show-2016 at Silver Jubilee Park, Cluster-10, Haldia Refinery Township, Haldia. The park has been decorated with various types of flowers and plants in a planned and organised way. Right from the main entrance gate of the park to the other end, we can see different species of plants and flowers, arranged in different moods & styles enhancing the beauty of flora and fauna. The best arrangement & display of flower were awarded with prizes. Industries & Municipality such as Indian Oil Corporation, Haldia Petrochemicals Limited, Haldia Energy Limited etc & Haldia Municipality participated in this Flower Show.
Today, I felt very nostalgic seeing these flowers in various shapes and colours and I remembered my childhood days when I used to spent time with them in our small house garden in utmost silence and cherishing the emotions and thoughts connected to them. Today, in this busy & hi-tech competitive world, I often feel that people are becoming more mechanical and they hardly spend time with flowers and plants and cherish its aesthetic value, especially the younger generations.
The importance of flowers in our life is best seen in the love relationships , expression of love, sorrow, grief, sorrow and even gratitude. Flowers can express those feelings which are hard to be put in words and difficult to be explained otherwise.

At this moment, I remember the poem on flower titled “Daffodils” written by William Wordsworth
Daffodils
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
