"HAAT BAZAAR" AT 13TH MORE, HALDIA TOWNSHIP, HALDIA, WEST BENGAL

A haat bazaar, most often called only haat, is an open-air market  that serves as a trading venue for local people in rural areas and some towns of Nepal, India and Bangladesh. "Haat bazaars" are conducted on a regular basis, i.e. once, twice, or three times a week and in some places every two weeks. At times, haat bazaars are organized in a different manner, to support or promote trading by and with rural people. (Source: Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia )
“Haat Bazaar” at 13th More, Haldia Township, Haldia, West Bengal is conducted on every Monday & Friday where localites as well as people from nearby villages around Haldia come to sell different types of eatables, food items such as grain/pulses, vegetables, fish, local herbs, bakery, confectioneries etc., general household usage materials, sapling & plants, etc.
Such kind of “Haat Bazaar” gradually focuses on rural settlements and convert villages into small towns and they create & provide trading opportunities for rural population. “Haat Bazaars” are centralized marketing centers for a large number of rural producers who need to reach where the purchasing power lies with minimum overheads and flexible stock and they are informal wholesale market for self-employed vendors with very little capital

37th ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW 2016 (29th Jan 2016 to 31st Jan 2016)

37th ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW 2016-Day 2

Today in the morning around 11:00 am I visited the 37th Annual Flower Show-2016 at Silver Jubilee Park, Cluster-10, Haldia Refinery Township, Haldia. The park has been decorated with various types of flowers and plants in a planned and organised way. Right from the main entrance gate of the park to the other end, we can see different species of plants and flowers, arranged in different moods & styles enhancing the beauty of flora and fauna. The best arrangement & display of flower were awarded with prizes. Industries & Municipality such as Indian Oil Corporation, Haldia Petrochemicals Limited, Haldia Energy Limited etc & Haldia Municipality participated in this Flower Show.
Today, I felt very nostalgic seeing these flowers in various shapes and colours and I remembered my childhood days when I used to spent time with them in our small house garden in utmost silence and cherishing the emotions and thoughts connected  to them. Today, in this busy & hi-tech competitive world, I often feel that people are becoming more mechanical and they hardly spend time with flowers and plants and cherish its aesthetic value, especially the younger generations.
The importance of flowers in our life is best seen in the love relationships , expression of love, sorrow, grief, sorrow and even gratitude. Flowers can express those feelings which are hard to be put in words and difficult to be explained otherwise.

37th ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW 2016

37th ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW 2016

[ Organised by Haldia Refinery, West Bengal, Indian Oil Corporation Limited ]

Like last year, this year also Haldia Refinery (IOCL) is organizing the Annual Flower Show-2016 at Silver Jubilee Park, Cluster-10, Haldia refinery Township from 29th January 2016 to 31st January 2016.
This flower show displays different types of plants and flowers maintained by individuals, nurseries as well as nearby industries in and around the vicinity of Haldia City.
I suggest  all flower lovers to visit this “Flower Show 2016” amidst different beautiful colors and experience the flora and fauna.
At this moment, I remember the poem on flower titled “Daffodils” written by William Wordsworth

Daffodils

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Outdid the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
