Centenary Park, Haldia Dock Complex, Haldia was inaugurated by
Shri T.C. Dutta, (I.A.S.),Chairman, Calcutta Port Trust on the 19th of
February, 1984. This park was constructed in " MEMORY OF THOSE WHO LAID
DOWN THEIR LIVES IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF HALDIA DOCK COMPLEX"
This
Centenary Park has a well maintained garden with different types of flower
grown in it. One can see lot of Sunflower plants grown in the garden of this
park.
This centenary park have got other attractions too. There is a
children park where people from different communities come, especially during
the evening hours and spend quality time with their children in
sliders, swings, different types of obstacles etc.
This Park has
also ensured that along with children, parents and grown-up people can also
enjoy & cherish the evening hours in the park along with other family
members in a colourful way. The authorities of this park have created
water-fountains with special colourful lighting, which enhances the ambience of
the park, as well as creating a very soothing effect in the minds &

This park
gives a glimpse of an ”open
resort" with different kind of lighting, where you would like to
spend hours & hours together with your near and dear ones. I personally
felt very relaxed and cheerful seeing the ambience of the park and this is a
place where one would like to come quite often.
